The word Nun means fish in Aramaic and represents the egoless state of fish, in its natural medium of water, when forced to reveal itself on dry land.

The numerical value of the Letter Nun is fifty (50).

There are fifty gates of understanding.
The cycle of fifty years culminating in the Jubilee year.
